Best Tennis Courts in Ontario Ranch Area

There are a few choices when it comes to Tennis courts in our area.

  1. Westwind Park 9/10
    2455 E. Riverside Drive
    Ontario, CA 91761

By far the most family friendly park in the area. Tennis courts are usually clean, lights are automatic and the community center has bathrooms available. Despite what the city’s website says, courts are not reservable, which is unfortunate. None of the other parks in the area are reservable either so I wouldn’t lower the rating for that.

There are 3 courts available which is 1 more than any of the other courts. It is normal for a park to only have 2 courts available on a first come first serve basis. The only problem with this is that there is no divider between the courts, so playing on court 2 is a bit annoying to have to run after the balls.

None the less, having an extra court to hit on is a major plus for this park.

  2. James C. Huber 8.5/10
    6411 Rolling Meadow St,
    Eastvale, CA 92880

This park is very pretty and extremely versatile. The park has a baseball field, soccer field, a skate park, 2 half courts, a playground and 2 tennis courts. I wanted to give this park a 10, but the kids in the skate park are pretty often smoking weed. I am glad they are not doing anything worse then that, but I would be annoyed as a parent having to explain what drugs are at such a young age.

The courts themselves are beautiful, have lights, wind breakers, dividers on the courts and benches. The benches are a welcomed touch. I am used to hanging out on the ground or having to bring a little chair with me. The bench definitely makes these courts a point above the rest!

There is also some good talent on these courts! Many lessons are given by locals coaches and Varsity players from the local school frequent these courts.

  3. Mountainview Park 8/10
    14444 Selby Ave,
    Eastvale, CA 92880

Mountain view is just a bit further south of James C Huber, so a bit further from the Ontario Ranch community, which is part of why I brought the score just notch below James C Huber. These courts are often full and busy, which is great for meeting local talent. From the looks of some construction, it looks like Eastvale is adding 2 more courts to the park! Once this happens, I am sure this will be the local hub of many tennis players in the area.

  4. Cypress Trails Park 8/10
    6571 Schaefer Ave,
    Chino, CA 91710

This park is probably the furthest from Ontario Ranch, but still close enough to stop by, especially if you are planning on heading to Trader Joes after your workout.

This park is probably the cleanest of all the parks listed and has a nice walking trail for your warmup. These courts also have lights and dividers making it comparable the two parks above. The only issue with this park is the distance from Ontario Ranch.

  5. McCune Family Park 4/10
    7450 Eastvale Pkwy,
    Eastvale, CA 92880

This park has the most potential to earn a few more points. The major problem with this park is the lights. There are none. This is a problem for any tennis player that is looking to play after getting off work. Having no lights, basically means these courts can only be used on the weekend for a normal working family.

The courts themselves also have dividers, wind breakers and are well kept. I personally would not be able to visit this park until lights are installed.

Depending on the time and where you live, these ratings might differ. These are all very nice parks and definitely worth checking out when you have time and make your own judgements.
